I'm a new comer to this program so I did the best to follow a step-by-step tutorial on another site to install Apache 2.2 along with PHP5 onto a Windows XP machine.
Everything seems to have gone smoother than I expected, PHP seems to have merged correctly with Apache and the 1st index.html test I did seems to work fine.
The reason I installed Apache on my machine along with PHP5 was I wanted to try out the Cloud OS 'EyeOS' so I edited the 'httpd' to point to the relative directories (Example Below)

I then recieved the following message when trying to access the localhost:-
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /php/php-cgi.exe/installer/index.php on this server.
So I then went and made sure I had full read write access to the php-cgi.exe file in the Directory, but still no joy!.. I then went on a made dash tryign to give permission to everything involved with this action to just try and get it to work. but still not working..
I then checked the Error Log for information and it states:-
[Sun Jan 11 12:45:55 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: C:/php/php-cgi.exe
But I thought I had already given permission to this file?
Is there anything else I should be checking as I'm getting stumped now.
Any help would be great

is probably
C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/php/php-cgi.exe/installer/index.php
which is not within your new documentRoot
C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/eyeOS
Move the contents of eyeOS directly into htdocs maybe ?

Thanks for getting back to me on this.
I have checked for the Dir of `C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/php/php-cgi.exe/installer/index.php` and that does not exist on my machine.
Would I need to add it as another string within the Document Root?
I Have also moved the entire contents of the EyeOS folder into the htdocs folder and amended the Confg and Php.ini as needed but i still get the same error?

Many thanks Caterham for that info.. I copied that directory info into the Server Config and the "install" window popped up for EyeOS without a problem.. but now I seem to have 2 other problems.
1 - The install was going through fine but then said "Forbidden - /install.php" - but this file is directly in the HtDocs folder?
2 - Apache does not want to seem to restart.. it comes up with the message "The Requested Operation has failed". I have rebooted the machine in question but still no joy.The only thing I can find in the error log file which might have something to do with it is this:-
"[Tue Jan 13 08:44:58 2009] [warn] (OS 995)The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. : winnt_accept: Asynchronous AcceptEx failed."

Where would I put this ink the httpd file?
I've read somewhere it should like this:-

but where abouts?

Many thanks for that linke,.. I've tried to attach the 'Win32DisableAcceptEx ' with different kinds of Containers.. but as I'me a COMPLETE newbie.. i'm not sure if i'm doing it correctly.. I even reverted back to my original Httpd config file and that works.. so it must be something I've put in the File.. I will put the HTTP config file in here to see if anyone knows what the problem could be?
