As the client'server is not returning a 404 we placed the meta tag in the home page as in many cases before. But with this site it is not possible to verify the site because G is returning the following message as if the HTML verify would be used: "We've detected that your verification file returns a status of 404 (Not found) in the header."
The site is using TYPO3. Any ideas? Every help would be much appreciated!

Looks like you have selected FILE as the method, but you are not using a file.
Choose META instead.
