Apache no longer loading PHP

Apache fails to load lbphp4.so

Our Apache 2 server was working fine until the server reset this morning. Now I get a syntax error in the httpd conf:

Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/libphp4.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/libphp4.so: undefined symbol: png_set_strip_16

I haven't made any PHP or Apache config changes or made any changes to any other software on the server.

Any ideas would be most appreciated...

Re-installing libpng has got php working again.
