Has anyone ever been able to rid themselves of this in their email headers? I am triggering some bulk spam filters and having trouble with getting blackholed by yahoo/gmail/hotmail. I don't know what is wrong. I have checked everything. From address, return path, reply-to all resolve to a real email on my server. My content is good. No filters other than the bulk one is triggered. This is localhost thing is the only thing I can see that looks bad in my headers and looking at mail from other sources that is coming into my inbox none of them feature this header but lots of mail triggering spam filters does have the header. I have found posts from other people on the web talking about how this header is triggering spam filters for them.
Accordingly, I have tried editing my sendmail.mc and m4'ing the file to sendmail.cf and turning on masquerade_as, masquerade_domain, etc... Tweaked my php.ini file and on and on and can't get anything to change.
I would just like to have this header show Received by mydomain by mydomain.com or somesuch.
I am using CentOS and sendmail btw.
Thanks,
W
