Why do you want to do that?

In those cases, the parameters feed values to pull from a database, switch options on and off, and allow tracking of the user around the site.

Such URLs are NOT optimum for getting a site indexed in a standard search engine. In most cases, you should be striving to AVOID such complexity.

Yes, those sites are often designed by people who know all about databases, and writing fancy scripts and such, but have no clue as to the needs of a search engine in terms of URL structure and format, site architecture, and navigation, and so on.

Many other sites are designed using the same hardware and software, but you would never know it, because the needs of search engines as well as users have been taken into account at the design stage, and then implemented in the code, structure, IA, and navigation.
