I have a webstite eg: http://www.example.com . in that site i have added another folder named forum. it looks like this http://www.example.com/forum . i want if some one type http://www.example.com to be redirected to http://www.example.com/forum .

i though it to do using javascript. as search engines have a bad eye on it i left that method. I believe i can do it using .htaccess file. will any one provide me a good suggestion please.

You want to internally rewrite your page URL to a subdirectory filepath, not redirect it.

Try typing the description of this thread into the WebmasterWorld search to get started -- we've covered this subject many times -- several times this month.

Please see our forum charter for links to documentation and see the tutorials in our forum library.
