SSL Wrapper and Plesk

New to Managing a server and need a little clarity

I have a Virtual Private Server with G*Daddy. It is a windows 2003 server running Plesk 8.3 for the admin panel.

I cannot get the SSL Wrapper that comes with it to show that it is working in the Plesk Admin Panel. I get a red "x" next to it in the components window.

To the question....I can get the SSL wrapper to run on the server no problem, but cannot get Plesk to show that it is running. Does it matter if Plesk shows it running?

What does the SSL wrapper do?

Sorry if this is really nub questions, but I have been beating my head against the wall for a couple days trying to get Plesk to show it. And this is a VPS so the Plesk help for changing the registry does not seem to work.
