Virtual Dedicated Server with Godaddy

I am new to this and a novice but here is the issue I am having:

I uploaded my website using Dreamweaver. I have a Virtual Dedicated hosting account with GoDaddy.

The problem is when I type: www.mydomain.com in the address bar I get a standard Apache welcome page. When I type www.mydomain.com/index.htm my actual page comes up.

What can I do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
