Hi,

I had to reorganise my webspace and this affects my site now.

i had an old website who was running on [site.com...] but this one is hacked and now deleted. My new space is on [site.com...] and it needs to stay in the subfolder "new".

What i'd like is that when visitors come to www.site.com that they see the contents in www.site.com/new but don't see the "new" in the browers window.

can .htaccess help me? Ifso and are their other tips i can use to lower the risk for hacking and spybots?

thx for helping me out.

Hi,

after *many* times trying to use .htaccess with various degrees of success, I began looking again this morning for clear and easily understandable information. I found the following on this site:
[webmasterworld.com...]

message id: #:1524505 in case that link doesn't work. Anyhow, my .htacces files are finally working proberly thanks to this excellent article. One small note - where you see the url of the new page for the re-direct in this article (page2.htm), I found that I had to use the full url i.e. [mysite.com...] or it wouldn't work. Otherwise the article is clear and concise,

cheers,

Wittner

We had a very long thread here with almost the exact same question about a month ago.

There is a lot of example code in that one.

There's an even older one at: [webmasterworld.com...] too.
