Hi, Im publishing a custom RSS feed with many outbound links and would like to cloak them for seo purposes. Im using magpie rss and can see where the item link is created, my plan was to add my own url and subdirectory to the beginning of the outbound url and use htaccess in that sub directory to redirect to the destination site.

eg:
original url:
http:www.newsexample.com

new url:
http:mysite.com/redir/http:www.newsexample.com

Does this sound like a good plan and is there anything I should watch out for?

Thanks

I'd recommend asking this kind of question in a more SEO-oriented forum such as our Google forum if you're looking for SEO side-effects, or in the RSS forum if you're looking at RSS-specific issues. We're really only chartered to discuss the method as it would be implemented with Apache .htaccess module directives here.
