Help! Redirect HTTPS to HTTP .htaccess

Please help.. I have spent about two hours researching a simple way to redirect

https://example.com/default.asp
to
http://www.example.com/index.htm

Originally i was on a asp platform with a ssl certificate and now switched over to a php non-secure host.

Can someone please help? I have seen a bunch of example redirecting from non-secure to secure domain but not the other way around..

Why not take the example you had and simply reverse it to meet your needs? Test it and see if it does what you expect.
