Hello,

Im a college student and would like to be able to log into my college's intranet from my appartment (it's allowed, I just dont know how to do it).

We were told we have to use an FTP server program to log in. Where can I download something like that?

Also: I dont have MS office, but have to study all the MS office programs for a test. Would I be able to access them from my computer at home, as MS Office is on every computer at my college?

thank you

I don't think you need an FTP server to do this but an FTP client. I use FileZilla, see [filezilla-project.org...]
If you really need a server, there you can also download one for windows.

Running remote applications like Office can be done. In the past I've done this using a solution from Citrix. But your college must have a Citrix server installed and you need a client. Or Windows remote desktop may also work.
But there are probably other tools to do the same. Ask the IT department of your college what they support.
