LOL, I tried a simple redirect but it just seemed to lock into a never ending circle (I guess), 'cos, when I tested this, my browser never got to land at the subsite.
Obviously, I had tried sending mainsite.com (original site) to the multihosted sub domain of mainsite, which is rediredted to..... and so it went on.
Is ther an easy way to straighten this out a little?

Remove all redirects and start again.

But what did you want to achieve?

And why? - that might help us to suggest the best solution.

But what did you want to achieve?

Well, my clients old site is example.com, example being the name of the company.
The company name has since changed and I put a revised version of the site at newexample.com and hosted it from a sub domain of the original site.
Now I want to redirect from the old site to the new site.

Using the tools within the site's control panel, I redirected example.com to newexample.com.
When I saw that newexample.com wasn't loading after the redirect but appeared to be redirecting again, I removed the redirect.
I can only guess that since the site is a sub domain of example.com, when I try to redirect to newexample.example.com of it goes again.

Wish I'd set up a seperate host now :(

It would be quite helpful if you would post your relevant code for discussion.

Well, sadly, I used the cpanel redirect facility to do this and have no access to the code.
I wondered if, instead, there was something I can add to the Apache handler to make this happen.
I get a bounce from sending request to connecting to site.
