I thought i would come back and share my experiences with the post i made here, [webmasterworld.com...]
its a shame that i cant post a reply to that topic as its been closed for some odd reason, wouldnt it be better to allow people to continue if they want to and make all posts more complete?
anyway.... its now approx 6 weeks after inplimenting the rule in .htaccess and my results are not so good;
1 All 3 of my 'other' domains are still showing lots of results in google, i would have expected google to have caught up with this by now, has this been anyone elses experience? they were gradually going down for the first few weeks but seem to have frozen
2 My page rank has still not changed, neither have the SERPS for my keywords
im worried that something is wrong, any thoughts anyone?
The PR takes usually weeks to months to consolidate.
It shows on the Toolbar several months after that.
And, though some folks have seen some small movement in toolbar PR, Matt Cutts recently said that he did not expect a major dump until sometime in the next few weeks, so don't expect any changes in your displayed PR for a while.
ive just checked this using rankquests header checker tool which returned this
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Date: Sun, 07 Oct 2007 21:11:21 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.33
Location: http://www.example.com/
Connection: close
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
so i think all looks ok do you?
odd though isnt it why google seems to have stopped shifting the results over after doing most of them in a few weeks?
cant wait to see how the page rank will shift, just in time for the christmas rush hopefully, exiting stuff!
thanks agin Jim :)
