i installed apache to use for testing building of my website but when i go to the internet and type in localhost it doesnt work. im not gonna lie i dont know much about this so if you could help me out with this problem and maybe hit me up with some links on how to learn more about setting up the webpage it would be much appreciated

localhost means "this machine right here" and cannot be used to connect to another machine or through a router.
I'm not sure what you mean by "go to the internet" because by definition, this would be a intranet request to the box your are typing "localhost" into...
