Help needed with mod rewrite

Hiya, can somebody possibly help me with mod_rewrite and the .htaccess file for my site.. i have asked my hosting provider and they wont budge. I'm sure it's something simple in the setup.. I don't have a clue what its all about, way over my head. PLEASE! <snip>

Ok sorry, i have finally clued onto why you are editing my posts .. der me.

I have sorted the problem out.. ok i havn't but my provider has

It appears that some of the (temporary) code that was used to upgrade your account from version 1.0 to 2.0 was (unintentionally) left in a config file. When this code was removed, the account began functioning properly again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

That was the problem!

Glad you got that sorted out! -- I don't think we would have been able to "see" that kind of a problem, much less help you fix it!
