I have installed Apache as my local server on win 2003 and I am putting docs in the htdocs folder to talk to FMS2. (flashmediaserver2)for .flv streaming. I am a beginner with Apache so on the desktop it says apache is running correctly I went in to the conf file and it says Listen 80. Is there a communication error and both FMS2 and Apache are on 80? or did I install wrong and it wont talk to FMS2 at all. If someone can bring some light on this week long tinkering brain anuerism of mine PLEASE [help]. <snip> I can keep hacking to make this run. I want to make FMS2 run locally with Apache. If I don't need Apache please let me know.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, lisafisher.

Apache is an HTTP server and by default it does Listen on port 80. If you are serving web pages from this server then yes, you will need an HTTP server.
