Webdav?

Ok, so i am taking over a new site that is on an Apache server.
Looks mainly PHP, data driven files.....

I am using DreamweaverMX 2004 to connect via WebDav connection dialog.

First thing, i can not GET any of the .php files from the remote server.

Second, i put up a promo file "index.html" in a folder named "Event"

when i try to type the URI www.oursite.com/Event

i get a stupid looking: 16080 in the URI....what the heck?

and the previous web developer mentioned i need to get a WEBDAV application and web editor...

what can i install on a PC that will make this easier for me to develop the site....
sorry, im used to good ol'dreamweaver and FTP access.....
