Hey,

I just got my first server up, it's working well..
what I want to do is make the root of my site a file instead of a folder but I'm not sure how to do this. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Inside your root directory put a file called

index.html
.

>>>I put .htm

Most servers are configured to handle both. It depends on how it is set up. Are you running Apache?

I'm running the newest vers of apache. It seems like a great tool but it also seems like it'll take a while to get used to. I've run into another problem; I'm behind a router and on one computer the site is online, but on another computer with another copy of apache, and a different domain, it's only working locally.. any ideas on this issue by chance?
