Apache 2.2.2 Parent Not Restarting Child Process

Hi,

I am having serveral Apache 2.2.2 problems on a Windows 2003 Server.

Apache is installed as a service automatically running.

Sometimes the apache child process crashes (or if it is terminated by task manager), but the parent process never restarts it.

The Apache service can then not be restarted or stopped until the Apache parent process is forcefully terminated via task manager.

How can I set the parent process to restart the child? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the service.
