installing fcgi apache 1.3 under win XP

need to install fcgi on windows apache dev box

I can't find any usable instructions on how to install fcgi in Apache 1.3 on windows machines.

What I have found refers to mod_fcgi.so or mod_fcgi.c which dont exist. Or to file paths which don't exist, or to install instructions which don't exist either. Most of what I found is Apache2 specific and doesn't work anyway.

I've gotton as far as setting up the fcgi-bin directories properly with exec etc. But obviously the modules are installable.

No one knows how to install fast CGI huh? I find that very hard to believe.

For any non-base modules I have found your best direction is to search for the modules on Apache and follow links offered to the developer's module pages.
