Hi, I have used x 2 year a simple index.html x redirect 1 site root to version site

so

in the index.html there is a simple refresh that redirect to /ver2 of site..

now my page rank is lost :(

from 5 to 0 in few month :'(

I think this is the problem

If I use htaccess to redirect from root to site version dir I can have the same problem?

thx

In the future use 301 redirect in htaccess.

You may or may not get it back. If you still are ranking - I wouldn't worry - if not - you may want to file a reniclusion request and explain the situation.

A meta-refresh is NOT a redirect, it is a client-side reload, and may be treated completely differently by search engines than a proper server-side redirect.

As far as I know, Yahoo! is the only search engine that has documented how they handle the meta-refresh.
