mass editing large ip text list

I have a large text list of IP's I want to ban in my .htaccess file so I need to insert "deny from" at the beginning of about 1200 lines of text.

This seems like it should be easy to do automatically in this day and age but I cant seem to figure out how do it in any way except manually in HTML-Kit and I would rather not edit an .htaccess file in Notepad or Word.

Has anyone had to do this task before can you suggest a solution?
