I hope that this is the correct thread to ask this on. I would like to know if there is anyway to block "images" from showing up on a google search using meta tags. I do use meta tags to block cache and the google robots do not cache. I tried searching the answer to this and could not find anything regarding "images". If there is not a way to block google with meta tags can someone please give other ways to keep my images from being cached for Google searches?

Hi Icm104, Welcome to WebmasterWorld.com!

Have a look at: Hotlink Protection Tutorial [webmasterworld.com]

If you're just worried about Google you can also block your images directory in robots.txt or .htaccess.

Please tell me exactly what to upload to the .htaccess to block my images directory, so that i can just copy and paste the code. Specifically I do not want Google to display small versions of all my images which they are doing.

Thanks for the great thread on hot linking but I did not understand the broken pipe talk, afraid to try that one and get a major sevrer error.

I would be in hog heaven just to stop Google or whoever is helping themselves to my images right now.

Look at your backspace key, go down one key and look at the mark above the backward slash. That is what a broken pipe looks link in this forum.

Type the shift and backslash key to see what the pipe should look like in your htaccss file. Just type over the broken pipe.
