Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I think it is

ok here is the thing, some one is taking my search engine traffic and sending [elsewhere]

<snip>

I have some 20 domains on this server and every domain on the server are doing this same thing I have asked the admin to my host to fix it but he says he can't find the problem that all seems to be fine.

Has anyone had this problem before does anyone have ideas I can run by the server admin or is there someone that can fix this that would like to give me thier price with out having to reinstalling the Operating System please [let me know].

Warning: The link removed above led to a site with malicious downloads on it. If anyone has clicked that link, I suggest a session with Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Iwido Spyware Remover at a minimum.

If you find no sign of hacking on your site, then the most likely cause of this problem is DNS hijacking or someone tampering with a router at your host or on the backbone.

Make sure your site hasn't been hacked, and that your computer itself hasn't been hacked (try accessing your site from another PC on a different network). Having done that, try the following:

If you can access your site by IP number without problem, but get diverted when using the domain name, then that's a DNS poisoning problem, and should be reported by your host to the DNS system admins. If you cannot access your site even by IP address, then there is a misconfigured router somewhere between you and your server, and that misconfiguration was apparently done intentionally. Therefore, you should report the problem to the 'corporate' level of the companies involved, and not to the usual 'technical' level, because it won't do any good to report it to the people who were responsible for diverting your site.

Those are just some ideas. Please refer to our Terms of Service [webmasterworld.com] and refrain from posting personal domains or IP addresses -- especially those that lead to malware downloads. Infecting the computers of people who might try to help you here is not a good plan.

sorry about that from my computer the ip address I posted above does not load anything much less spyware it just sends me to that ip and it only does this from search engines I can go to the site directly just fine and yes we have tried from many connections as well the tech at my host has also tried the same if you go to any of my sites located on the server directly through bookmark or a link from another site that is not a search engine then it will go to my site(s) I have one site that gets around 5k bookmarks a day on the server but the search engine hits have pretty much gone to 0 once this started I was told the DNS is fine and they can't find a virus on the server they can't think of anything else to try they want to re install the OS which will mean I will have to pay scripters to reinstall scripts on my server and will lose databases almost seems like to much work to make it worth it but mean while I can't add new sites to the server becuase I know I will recive no search engine traffic to the domains becuase of this problem, which is why I was hopeing someone else here has come accross the same problem and knows how to fix it or maybe a similar problem that might be realted and my tech guy should look at tweak to try to get rid of this problem
