Need rule to create valid url?

How do I either create a rule in mod rewrite or htaccess so that if a user types in just my domain "myddomain.com" in browser without www that the full valid url "www.mydomain.com" will display.

We have apache server f4 site is php.

This problem is addressed by redirecting the non-canonical domain to the canonical domain, and has been well-covered here. This search [google.com] will turn up hundreds of previous discussions to get you started.
