Help me out! I've been struggling, like most of you, with Apache 2.2 for a while now. I'm starting to get really mad. I read and read, but nothing helps me. I have an awesome Dell PowerEdge Server sitting in my house.
2 Gig RAM
4 slots for hard drives(only 1 80gig in)
4 Xeon Processors
, etc....
------------------------
HELP ME! I have Apache 2.2 installed, it works in my network, but won't show up outside(to the world) my network. I've back tracked this forum about 5 pages reading threads, I've read threads on DP forums, and of course the Apache site. I can't figure it out. I've tried installing Apache as a bundle, Xampp, but that didn't work.

Any thoughts? PLEASE!

Thanks in advance,
Jared Holland

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Jared!

Two things to rule out:-

1. Port Forwarding/NAT

If your network sits behind a single IP address using NAT, or some form of "internet connection sharing" (ICS) you will need to tell the NAT router, or ICS device to forward port 80 requests to the IP address of the webserver.

2. Maybe it is working

If you have already set a port forward, are you sure it's not working? Many NAT/ICS devices will not allow you to connect to your own internet IP address. In other words, you can't go out of your network and back into your network. If you haven't tested that, get a mate to test and see if they can access it from the outside.
