Apache installation

Web page not coming up

Hi All,

I just finshed installing the Apache Web server 2.2.3 on the Linux
system. The starting of server using "./apachectl start" worked fine
without any errors. Using ps -ef, I can see the httpd running. But if I open the web page [localhost,...] it does not respond. I haven't changed anything yet in httpd.conf and the listen port is still 80. I am following the steps at [httpd.apache.org...]

Any help will be highly appreicated.
