Looking for URL rewriting characters that can be used with success

Will the pipe character work in URLs?

Alright I am very limited on the characters I can use in my URL rewriting because of other conflicting issues. So dash (-) and underscore (_) are already out.

I am currently questioning the pipe character "¦" in URLs. Has anyone seen or had success with this character and rewriting?

Example:
[domain.com...]

Also, what other characters have you had success or not with? I would like to have a list of them incase the above is not feasible and for future reference.

Thanks,

I would suggest the period (.) or the tilde (~), since they are both "unreserved" characters.

Birdman,
First thanks. Second, have you used the period or tilde with success?

Thanks,

Hi,
No I have not personally used either but I have seen the period used alot elsewhere. Maybe someone who has used them will post a reply.
