I am trying to learn PHP and MySQL at the moment for developing a website. I cannot though for the life of me get Apache to load. I have Apache Version 1.3.23 (Win 32) downloaded and everytime I got to run it, the first message I get is

pid file c:/apache/logs/httpd.pid overwritten

Then if I try it again, I get
Apache/1.3.23 (Win32) running...
and then that just stays there and nothing else comes up.

I am using Microsoft XP software as my OS as it is the family computer so I cannot really install Linux or start changing the settings on anyone else.

Any help would be really apprecicated.

You could spend ages learning how to install linux and learb no mysql/php in the process.

Instead opt for an install package.

phpdev is uber easy. [firepages.com.au...]

go for 4.2.3 as that is stable, double click, then you have a server running on XP with all the tool (well maybe not all)
