finding root domain path

I found a script on line that i am trying to setup but it needs the root domain path for my server. I have read all the in formation from the host and even used the ftp program to help me find it. Yet everytime I try the /home/mydomain/www or other variations it comes back can not find file. It shows the main information in the middle of the page but it will not find the header of css files with the paths I am using. for somereason it keeps coming back can not file header.inc at /home2/www/mydomain or a variation but it aslways uses home2 even though i have never placed home2 as a path. Well not until i saw it was trying to look there but even when i did try it, it still did not work. Is there anyway to use the command promt from my host server to get the correct path for this script.
P.S.
I just hate when scripts have to have this information instead of just using localhost. Also I am hoping when I have the correct path it will fix the problem with the links. Unfortunatly the site i found this calendar script does not have a contact of discussion board.

wander out of the PHP forum and your questions go unanswered. ;) strangely the answer lies in PHP

try this

<? echo $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'];?>

this var will always contain the server path up to the root of your site. If you are using includes you can just use that var like so

<? include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . 'header.inc';?>

I can never remember if you need a slash before 'header.inc' though.

Thanks jatar_K I figured it out and got the script running. Now I busy modifying all kinds of stuff on it to fit it to my site. The more I learn PHP though the easier i am find it is to read the code and see what and where I need to change things
