So I'm starting up my own small web hosting company. And I'm using a combo of OS X Server, and my own custom backend written in php/mysql. Now originally I wasn't even going to use bandwidth monitoring, but more and more, I realize I have to use it, else I'm really going to get screwed. But I haven't been able to find much info on it. I know every other host I've used has monitored apache bandwidth, most with cpanel. Someone told me there was a module to do it, that wrote directly to mysql. That would be perfect. If I could install something that would just write to its own database, one entry for each virtual host set up, I could set up my backend to go right in and grab that data. But alas, he doesn't know the name of this program and I can't seem to find anything.

Check out MRTG [people.ee.ethz.ch] with the Snert [snert.com] module. No first-hand experience here, but that's the first place I'd look.
