Hello, I'd like to know which different approaches are available and which ones can guarantee success. My research led me to information that this is very difficult if not impossible and that the best system consists in one that changes the name of the folder containing the movies or videos in very short intervals (15 minutes for example) via .htacess or Apache configuration.

I'd appreciate detailed information for a layperson.

Thanks. I might be wrong but windows media player does not pass referral information so the .htaccess will not work. Extensive testing.

The only ones I know that have succeeded in preventing hotlinking to videos/movies were changing directory/folders name every so often (from minutes to an hour), possibly on a cron job all done via a php include.
