Can I change the way my directories are displayed?

On my site I have some links to my directories so that the users can browse through certain files.

Is shows the "name", "last modified", "size", and "description" attributes for each file/dir.

Is there anyway I can change which attributes are shown and the size of the column? It is cutting of my filenames because the first column is very small.
