Trouble accessing Apache server

Hello,

I have just started to learn Apache today, and I'm having some problems.

When I type in [localhost:8080,...] instead of going to the default index page, it asks me if I want to download 'localhost'. However, when I type in the full address for example:

localhost:8080/cgi-bin/first.cgi, everything works fine.

The weird thing is it was working before, and I haven't edited anything since.

Any ideas why this doesn't work?

It's okay, I have fixed this now.
