The problem I am having has irked me for a while now. It was solved out of the blue, I don't recall what I did, but it didn't happen after that.

I have apache 1.3 on XP with php 4.3.6. Everything works dandy, but it the server won't see the phpmyadmin folder. The folder is right there, I can see it, but it won't open the index page. I'm sorry if this is confusing, I'm trying the best I can to describe it.

Maybe I'm confused...is this still happening or is it fixed?

Are you asking for help in fixing it, or why it happened?

Yea sorry bout that. It's happening now. I guess what I am asking is why it can't find that particular folder when all the others are accessible.

Ok...next question...how are you trying to access the index.php file?

Are you using

[domain.com...]

or

[domain.com...]

If it's the second, it could be that the server isn't set up to look for index.php as a default file.

Ok, now I'm really confused. That worked, so thank you VERY much... a project is due in not too long at that depended on it... but jeez, I dunno. If I type in "localhost/phpmyadmin/" it opens the folder. If I type in that plus "index.php" it works.

GRRR...

Thanks again man.

God Bless

I think it's in the httpd.conf (could be wrong...never had to mess with it) file where you are able to set the types of files the server should look for as default files. Just add index.php to the list and it should work both ways for you.

Yep, I tried that, and for whatever reason I think that may have been the problem. Oh well, problem solved. Thanks a million man. I posted this on another forum twice without any luck.
