Apache and cookies

Hi

I'm a new user to apache so go easy!

I have transfered my site testing from a remote server hosting to the web, to my laptop.

I'm using Apache http server 1.3.23

I am in the process of designing a login routine using php. My programs were working using the remote server, yet since I transfered to the laptop, things have gone slightly wrong..

My local version of Apache does not appear to be writing or taking any notice of the cookies my programs are attempting to write.

I assume I may have to modify some code in the conf file - but I don't know where to start.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Failing this, is it a PHP issue?

Many thanks
