I know I can learn quite a bit about .htaccess & mod_rewrites in this forum, but I would like to have a good refrence book for my desk as well. I did a search for suggested reading on here, but couldn't find anything.

What would you guys suggest for a good book to keep on the desk?

By far, the hardest part of mod_rewrite to learn is regular expressions. Apache (for the most part) follows the standard UNIX regexp syntax, so I'd definitely recommend O'Reilly's Mastering Regular Expressions [oreilly.com].
