Im working on a SEO project for an online betting site.
does anybody know anything about the conversion rates of online betting sites?
could that be a 7% percent?
it's quite high but it concerns the users coming from a pure content site, about sports and betting to the official one.

P.s. the content site promotes exclusively the specific betting company's brand through banners rich media and text links.

vareloglou,

At a recent SES conference, conversion rates was a topic of conversation - the feeling being that why are Internet sites happy with mailing list conversion rates when most visitors come to your site via links or ads or search engines, knowing full well the purpose of the site.

Going for the general example, if someone searches for "hawaiian coffee" are they looking for research or more likely, looking to purchase. So if they visit your coffee shop site, and they don't purchase, that is indicitive of other issues, such as your site's design, trustworthness, product price, etc.

So basically, instead of asking if 7% is an industry standard, you should be asking what do I need to get up to 50% conversions?
