Hi,
I did a re-search on Giga Blast and Google and I found many similarities.
Please give me your suggesstions on what you think.
Similarities:
Search page: Google has "cached" function and so does Giga Blast. When you search in Google, the search page is: http://www.google.com/search?q=(query) and Giga Blast's Search page is: http://www.gigablast.com/search?q=(query) see the similarity?
Same Robot Name: Google's robot name is GoogleBot and Giga Blast's robot name is GigaBot , both are bot's
I can find only 3 similarities , Please write if you can find any more similarities. But can it be? Google and Giga Blast?

Regards,
Sid

The guy who started gigblast use to come around here. AFAIK it is still run by people not associated with google. They just following in google's footsteps.

Yes there are several similarities, but also a lot of differences. First of all, there seems to be 2 different databases: www.gigablast.com (America) and www.gigablast.nu (Sweden/Europe). The first one is really quick with indexing. You go to 'add an URL', and a few minutes later the page is in the SERP. Much quicker than Google.

But you are looking for some more (almost) similarities, so here are a few more:

  1. About the maker korkus2000 is correct, mattdwells (Matt Dwells) is a member at WW. Like GoogleGuy for Google. BTW, for the Swedish site, there is larsj (Dr. Jean-Louis Lassez?).
  2. You can change the number of default 10 results in SERP by adding a parameter in the URL (Google: "&num=30" Gigablast: "&n=30" to change if from 10 to 30). The maximum at Google is 100, Gigablast set it to maximum 50.
  3. They both give the size of the page in kb although Gigablast shows an extra decimal.
  4. Add URL is free

<added>
You could also say that they both have data centers which data can contain different information (Google has 7 data centers: 6 in America, 1 in Europe; Gigablast has 2 data centers: 1 in America and 1 in Europe).

Tried to add a URL, got "Add url busy. Try again later." :(
