5.4% of referals from Gigablast

I thought "nobody" was using it.

I just signed with a site that is getting 5.4% of all search engine referals from Gigablast. Most of the referals
are from the major ones ofcourse, but still none of my other
sites hardly gets any traffic from Gigablast at all.

The site is actually doing much better on the SERPs in the major engines than in Gigablast (except AV). I wounder what will happen when I get the site moved up to the 1th SERP
on Gigablast (it is now on the 5th page for the primary keyword).

Is there any up to date reliable data on the popularity of the minor serach engines. Is there anybody here that gets traffic froom Gigablast? None of my other clients hardly get any referals from that engine at all.

Just did a quick check on one of my analysis tools - 2 clicks this month from Gigablast derived sources (both were IxQuick).

That number seems a bit high, perhaps they weren't looking at unique clicks but just click volume?

Though Matt Dwells ( the Gigablast dude) mentioned here (what, a few days ago?) that they are getting 500,000 queries per day, and have 200 million pages in their db.

So the project seems to be humming along nicely for a small engine - they could be going places.

I probably get at least two clicks a week from Gigablasts through Ixquick. Almost none directly from GB itself.

Like Jeremy says 500,000 searches is not too shabby for a minor engine. GB is growing pretty fast for a new search engine and improving in quality too.

I'm continually surprised at how good the gigablast results are, especially on such a budget...

I have one small site that scores quite well from Gigablast with maybe about 2% of traffic, but on my biggest site not a single hit this year. I get 0.1% from Ixquick and 0.03% from Vivisimo which uses Gigablast too.

I think the difference is that my pages just can't be optimised for Gigablast *at all*, but I can see my sites in there if I query correctly.

So the question is.. what does Gigablast look for in a page?
