I have seen more and more hits on my site from this search portal, it uses other se results, but it looks clean and easy to navigate.

i think its ok but nothing special at all (but i'm not really a fan of SEs that use other SE's data - i prefer indie crawlers)

this one doesn't even cluster their results by domain

I do agree I dont like se that use other SE's data, but this one looks different, it looks like a SE.

1) I have yet to see hit #1 from this site.

2) it's appallingly slow

3) Meta engines are, in general, very tired, unless they offer something unique this one does NOT.

Should I continue? :)

To succeed as a search engine takes a bit more than thousands of visitors...it takes millions. And, here, we try to focus on the ones that either a) provide tons of traffic or b) have it in them to provide that traffic someday.

So far, this one seems like it won't. Unless I missed something? Where's the selling proposition? Why should I get excited?

Actually you missed a lot.

MySearch is just a stand-alone tool from the MyWay portal which are also the same folks who run iWon and other properties.

I think that their toolbar gives a MySearch referal instead of MyWay, but I am not sure.

I find it to be very quick. You can get un-integrated SERP's from Google, FAST, AV, ASK, and LOOK, so you can quickly check positioning.

A 'me too' post ... I got nothing quickly, and in Opera I got nothing at all - just reloaded the front page with the query showing in the URL, but no results.

Nothing new, nothing improved. Why?

figment88, you just nailed the very reason that people came back to HotBot [hotbot.com] which at one time, had lots more traffic.

Their redesign, and 'one click' access to all major SE's has enabled them to get a little more traffic...but, mysearch.com is a day late & a dollar short on that idea -> it's been done.

jeremy goodrich, well I do have over 500.000 unique visitors to my site and I do see more and more hits from that se, but ofcause nothing compared to Google/Yahoo they do own so much of the internet seach so maybe a few 1000 is good.

MyWay (and its MySearch) appear to aim for a target
audience of peeps who:
(a)like portals such as yahoo and iwon, but hate the proliferation of main page ads, jave and graphics
and/or
(b) like a clean base plate like google, atw, etc., but also prefer their home page to give a wee bit of access
to mail, news, etc.

MyWay can easily be thought of, but not promoted, as Yahoo Lite or Iwon Lite. It's a stripped down portal that ought to play well with the dialup and slow modem crowds.

I prefer its switch SE results feature (click fat tabs) over hotbots' radio buttons. It's a convenient way to rapidly look at SERPS in Google, AV, ATW, Jeeves, and LookSmart.

Hm, do you work there taskmaster? Sounds like you are awefully sweet on them. :)

Though, think about this for a moment: every major SE on the planet reads here.

The alexa ranking of webmasterworld is in teh mid 300's...better than many search engines.

If you were a search engine, where would you be starving for news from?

Answer: this place.

Every up and coming engine in the world, if they are going to be worth *anything* will be mentioned here.

So, since you are so excited about them, give us a bit more of your stats...or you don't work there, and you are just a very excited user of their engine? :)

I only mention that because, usually, a person that posts here *very excited* about some new SE that hasn't been mentioned before, 50% of the time or more, they do, in fact, work there.

Cheers. No disrespect intended, I just find it amusing, so please don't take it the wrong way.

Well I have enogh work in my own sites, I just saw in my stats in this month and last month that myseach came up, thats all, maybe I even have more visits then mysearch.

I dont even use mysearch, but I would like to see a new version of Google soon before then are going public, because that would ruin the SE and then we need a new.

Hm, I get clicks from MyWay -> though very few.

Just checked Alexa's stats on mysearch - they are about the size of LookSmart, according to the alexa rankings.

That's amazing. And, it's doing better than MyWay on the Alexa rankings, perhaps the demographics of my sites are different than those of this search tool?

Very interestting. Must be the toolbar thing from Iwon or something driving the traffic to this site...amazing their ranking is so high.

Perhaps people like it then. :)

Nah, check this out:
Alexa traffic graph [alexa.com]

Seems that their traffic started in mid December...so, it's still fairly new. :)

Another Iwon property...if they ever organized things a bit better, they would have a bit more ability to sell a group like us, I think.
