Alexa contact info

direct from Whois

I had previously given Alexa our e-mail address for the Contact Info section and they'd added it to our listing. Today I saw that they'd added owner name and telephone number from the Whois listing for our domain name. Since I don't want this information listed so publicly I've filled in the 'change contact details' form to have it removed. Anyone else seen this?

I've also requested for them to delist information on the domain name or atleast to change it and they did rather promptly. I'm not sure when they obtained their information but for one of the domains they had origional information which was changed a long time ago so I had to ask them to make the changes to it :)

Did you have any luck getting them to change the information, John? I haven't had to do this with any of my sites, but most of them don't have my name :) so I'm not worried about my alias's privacy...

I'm surprised you managed to get the contact information updated! I've been trying for several months now with no success.

I certainly see your concern with the WHOIS data being publicly available though.
