Does anyone have any information about a company called First Phrase?

They keep sending me Spam email. They claim to be able to sign me up for keywords that can be typed directly into Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers that will forward automatically to my site. Reminds me of what RealNames used to offer.

I tried their examples, but it didn't work. I think it requires a browser update.

They seem pretty shady to me. Anyone have any experience with them?

You can sticky me for their URL if you want, but I'm sure you can find them.

4crests I have heard of them. One of my customers contacted me about this companies service and it is as you said RealNames. I called the company and they said that they bought out RealNames and are trying to revive it. You have to download some software of theirs and then you can use it. In addition to you downloading it the customer has to do it before hand other wise it will not work. So unless everyone has it downloaded its useless.

They are telling me that 99% of the public does not have to download anything for this to work. It looks like maybe they are lying to me.

Yeah they told me the same thing. They said the their software comes on all of the new computers....<cough>bologna</cough>. They are trying to get the sale. If I were you I would ask them for proof. Odds are the guy on the phone has no clue what is going on, he was hired to make the sale and that is it.

You might want to give it a try it never hurts. But one thing I forgot to mention is the keyword selection. If someone wants something like coat of arms and has already paid for it then you will be out of luck with an inferior keyword.

In all honesty how many people actually search this way...very few if any at all. Most of the population is going to the big engines or directories for their searching needs. On top of that it has taken years to get some people used to using the search box on said engines. If you look at something like word tracker you will see that people are still typing in www.yahoo.com, www.hotmail.com and the sort. People are ignorant as to the new methods unless you show them what to do they will not do it.

I think your adwords account will continue to be the best source of advertising at this time. The new fantangled or uber way of searching is not that effective.
