KartOO to release site search

French visual search engine pioneer KartOO is about to release a site search solution for websites.
A test is running here:
[ww2.kartoo.com...]

Up to now KartOO did meta websearch, as well as intranet search.
The new site search employs an own indexer (obviously) as well as their flash interface.

I don't know how expensive it's going to be but I think it could be a pretty attractive solution for larger web properties.

Nice - could be interesting, but that 'test'...I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. Typed in a few urls, got nothing back.

Perhaps when it goes alpha we'll have a better idea?

I think it would be very nice to have a visual map of some of my sites created that way - could be very useful.

Yahoo will be Yahoo.com very soon. Concerning google, they do not want to appear in our results...I think they don't like competition ;-)

I think it would be very nifty to search my own sites specifically with kartoo.

i'm very impressed - somehow it makes more sense in a site-search context where you already have in mind the kind of content you are going to find. i find the web interface version dazzlingly beautiful and elegant, but i think it would have usability issues for novice net users who cannot visualise the internet. but as a site search tool it rocks. when will it be available? and how much?

I wish I could see it. I've tried it with Netscape, IE and Opera ... no good. Guess its not designed for Mac users?

A very interesting search visualization. I believe some users will appreciate the "connections" map concept. I will actually have to real-world the thing for a while...

There appears to be some sort of page loading problem. I am trying to view the ww2.kartoo.com/kartoo/ link using IE5.5 on a Win 98SE machine, DSL connection, but nothing shows up except the search field at the very top. Have tried several times but no go....

Oops! Sorry about that... the rest of the Kartoo site is so incredibly well designed (obviously by an artist), I thought perhaps this was a table that was not loading correctly!

Your comments are really interesting for us. As you will understand KartOO Site Box is a new product, and you may find some bugs.I will try to answer some of your questions. Firstly this solution is very easy to implement on your own site (you only receive the HTML code by mail, and the interface can be adapted to your graphical charter by our "artist"...as someone said...thanks for him)...after ordering the product...I want to precise...our prices are by the most competitive on the market, and you have an unique tool...but I am not here for promotion ;-).
