The first pages of Dogpile results are from pay-per-click search engines like GoTo, FindWhat and Sprinks. A good entry in one of these should do the trick.

Wow Dogpile used to maintain their own database with rotating results.

They appear to be still using that DB as one of the results but you can now only delete sites.

I know they used to use Thunderstone's results, but you couldn't submit directly to them... you could however, edit your listing once they 'found' and listed you.

Mike is right. In the Dark Ages, T-stone used to feed on NSI for domains. If you did not have a "real" domain, you were not welcomed. And I seem to remember something about the necessity of a mail address of [e-mail]
