Josk pointed out in another thread [webmasterworld.com] that Excite is running a default banner that links to:

Which states:

Please note that @Home, the former owner of excite.com, is providing your email service through December 31. The new Excite will begin migrating your email to a new and reliable system beginning on Thursday, December 20, and you will be on this new and reliable system by year-end at the latest. Thanks for working with us through this transition.

However, it doesn't mention anything about a new search engine database. hmmm

Have invited in Excite to comment.

In any event, they need to fix the new home page so you don't have to have javascript turned on to view it... or at least that's what appears to be happening.

Metasearch, yellow/whitepages by Infospace.

Directory is ODP.

Web-search,add_url is Overture.

News-search is Dogpile.

Photo-search is Ditto.com

Looks like most of the portal services [www1.excite.com] remain in tact.

very screwy serps,

one minute more upto date than anything else i have seen on the web except PT pages. The next minute, the meta desc and title taken off a third level sub page, which is not listed in ink, and attributed to the index page, very weird. Compelling watching, will keep on playing.

i'm seeing 1-15 overture, 16+ straight ink.
20 results per page.
