Wolfram Alpha Introduces AI Image Identification Project

This is both exciting, and fun. It's like a little kid being asked to identify what's in the image.

I tried it and it certainly works for a range of images, although, if the image is a little more challenging, it did struggle. Fair enough.

Now I’m excited to be able to say that we’ve reached a milestone: there’s finally a function called ImageIdentify built into the Wolfram Language that lets you ask, “What is this a picture of?”—and get an answer.

And today we’re launching the Wolfram Language Image Identification Project on the web to let anyone easily take any picture (drag it from a web page, snap it on your phone, or load it from a file) and see what ImageIdentify thinks it is... Just tried a bunch of images. Not too impressed. The only image that it was close to getting right was when I loaded a picture of a face. It told me it was a "person". This tool has a long way to go yet.
