Trawling through my logs and guess who i spotted, 'wisenutbot', i can only assume it is the one and only Wisenut, the crawl is considerable for one day, compared to what i get off any 1 bot from av, ink and google in one day. I like wisenut, and i am impressed, well why not, one site is #1 for about 96% of phrases targetted for.

Wisenut seems to have a similar algo to google, possibly even better, i suppose it is now going to come down too, inward investment and web and non web media exposure to get the numbers coming.

But how much UK traffic do you get from wisenut and how many people other than the likes of us know of existence

They have started spidering the logs I watch regularly, seems their pattern is every two weeks or so. I believe that means they might have a quick update cycle, if so, kudos to them. If not, and they are just wasting server resources...then they need to cut back.

I'm counting those all important referrers, and since they've sent me 2 so far, that makes them an important SE to me, anyway. Slurp and Scooter have been on my banned list for a while, because they don't want to even index me...so I like to see their spider come round, the wisenutbot.

I found a couple hits by the wise bot also. Had to pick it out of the raw log since the analyzer doesn't pick them up as a SE. Found a couple of strange user agents I had not seen before, email harvesters most likely.

It seems like google with a heavy dash of early INK (which may account for the reports of some spam down in the SERPs).

Better than spiders, I'm seeing referrals on a fairly regular basis now, it's in the range of some of the better metas since they went over to GoTo; dogpile, mamma.
