I caught a very nice surprise today when looking through some referrer logs I see excite's name pop up. Haven't had a referrer from them for around a year as they have been dominated with doorway spam. Now it looks like they have done some recent house cleaning.

Has anyone else had the good fortune to have been picked up at long last?

Excite seems to bring about 20% of the referrers that google brings, but since google just buried a number of sites, it nice to see excite carry a little of the load :).

Depends on the keyword(s) you are using, but those results are fresh. I looked just yesterday, and they were different, quite a surprise...now, if they would only add one of mine to the mix on the top, instead of the bottom, I'd be feeling much better about them.

It's right but they need a better cleaning tool; there are still mirror sites (sites with different URL but with exactly the same pages)

Before I sell a car, I wash it.

Easy, MS make good products. I don't see anything wrong with any MS product. They are all made for a purpose, if you use them for the wrong purpose, it won't work. I.E. Don't use Win98 at work, use Win2000, you won't find a better OS.

They do seem to still be crawling and/or following links, unless they query internic. I found a hit by their spider on a new site before I made the trip to the submit page. I guess I'll have to go take a look at em.
